Creating a Brave Space: A candid conversation focused on the LGBTQ Experience brought to by Fyli in Partnership with Do the WeRQ.
It is our hope to have 3 panelists with a moderator who will help to craft the conversation and rather than have guided questions we will focus on subjects and have the moderator guide the organic conversation.
Moderator: John Jenkinson
- John Jenkinson is the VP of Communications and Marketing at Grey Group. His background is in PR, and ran communications for Publicis Worldwide and Momentum before joining the Grey team. Prior to advertising, John was a literary publicist – and misses the free books. He lives in Hoboken, NJ with his husband and their dog, Hattie Mae.
Emily Sander: Emily Sander is a VP/Creative Director with 16 years of experience working across the advertising industry, currently at Mullenlowe where she leads work across seven Edgewell brands. From her first role as a writer at JWT, she quickly embraced the expansive world of brand storytelling and continued to seek ways to connect with audiences across agencies such as Translation, Havas, 360i and most recently Momentum. Along her journey, she created a brand entertainment television property for Macy’s called the “Million Dollar Makeover;” launched the culturally transformative State Farm NBA rebrand “Born to Assist;” and led the development of engaging social and digital campaigns such as “Catch Drogon” for HBO. And her curiosity and passion for nurturing creative eventually extended to talent itself as she served as the Chair of the Department of Advertising at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia. There, she redeveloped the curriculum and galvanized excitement in the major to help bring enrollment to its highest mark in nearly a decade while earning it a fourth in world ranking among ad schools from the One Club.
