A native of South Florida, Breion was a co-instructor at the Black Women in Film Summit, panelist at the Film| Music |Art| Culture at Jazz In The Gardens, iGen Film Festival and speaker at It’s Just PR Media Mingle. Breion was also named one of “South Florida’s 40 Under 40 Leaders.
She has serviced many notable clients including: The Miami Dolphins Foundation, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), the South Florida Times and more. #2 Latashia DeVeaux, Entertainment Publicist
Latashia DeVeaux, a seasoned PR and communications executive with 20+ years of publicity, event marketing, and talent relations experience with an emphasis in diversity, equity and inclusion, has worked with clients in the technology, luxury automotive, beauty, and the entertainment industries.
While wearing many hats, Latashia spearheads operations at the Los Angeles based DeVeaux Agency, DeVeaux Media Group (DMG) and its parent company, DeVeauxted Enterprises, Inc. She is also a Senior Talent Relations Consultant at BET (a ViacomCBS company) and serves as the President of Black Public Relations Society, Los Angeles as well as the Vice President and PR Chair for Black Women in Technology.
Over the course of Latashia’s career, she’s had stints at Rogers & Cowan, Universal Music, Disney, and YP. She also served as a Multicultural Marketing Manager for Universal Pictures where she spearheaded niche multicultural marketing campaigns for the studio’s original DVD release of Jarhead, Outkast’s Idyllwild, Bring It On 3, and Dave Chappelle’s Block Party. During her time at Walt Disney Studios, she assisted with the marketing and legal affairs on blockbuster films including Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. She also produced an All-Star PSA benefitting Black AIDS Institute as well as a Starz documentary on our favorite former President, Barack Obama, where she oversaw all talent procurement and relations.
#3 Marissa Wallace, Group Director of R&CPMK’s Multicultural Communications & Marketing department
As Group Director of R&CPMK’s Multicultural Communications & Marketing department, Marissa Wallace manages multicultural communications strategy and public relations campaigns for a cross section of the agency’s brand and talent clients. She executes new strategies and programs designed to further client engagement with general and multicultural audiences, including communities of color, LGBTQ+, women, differently abled, and youth communities.
Throughout her career, she has led campaign development, strategic partnerships, experiential activations and branded content development for high-profile clients across industries including entertainment, technology, QSR, CPG and advocacy. Most recently prior to joining R&CPMK, Marissa spearheaded the development of We Stan for Her, a digital branded content series starring singer Jordin Sparks that explores the unique beauty experience of Black women in America.
#4 Maya French, Co-Founder of Koia
Maya French is the Co-Founder of Koia, the protein-packed, plant-based beverage that uses natural ingredients to deliver delicious nutrition, with her partner, Dustin Baker in late 2013. Koia originally began as a juice company, but after the two noticed an oversaturated category, they decided to pivot to protein drinks. The inspiration behind plant-based protein drinks came from Maya discovering she was lactose intolerant. By discovering an innovative dairy-free and soy-free option with a balance of high protein and low sugar, the pair saw Koia as an opportunity to improve Maya’s health but also the health of others. Koia quickly scaled to become the most productive refrigerated protein brands in the natural channel within 18 months of inception and also landed a rare national deal with Whole Foods Market in 2016. Today, Koia is now available in more than 8,000 stores nationwide in both natural and conventional grocery chains. Maya strives to mentor other early-stage entrepreneurs in the industry so that they can avoid the many bumps she faced early on. Her overall mission is to deliver easy access to healthy, better-for-you food/beverages to the masses by creating category disruptors that pave the way for other natural foods in mass markets.
